Spirit of Giving:

 Let’s start with the spirit of Christmas. The students could have a  penny drive and a variety of gifts could be voted on and purchased by the class.


 1. The Food Bank: This is the link to our local Food Bank  with three ways to help our local community.

 2. The International Child Fund: Here you will find a list of items classrooms could fund raise for other children in third world  countries.

 3. Fairbanks, United Way: This is the local United Way and a has great information on who the organization helps and guidelines for volunteers.

 4. World Vision: This link has gifts for under 20 dollars and could be a great way to teach compassion.

Early Childhood: 

1. Boowa and Kwala's Christmas Stocking: Students need to fill the stocking with the items listed.

2. Gingerbread House and

Trim a Jan Brett Gingerbread Baby House: Students add candy and other items to design a gingerbread houses.

3. Highlights, Guess the Present: Students guess what the present is by its shape.

4. Highlights, Find Hidden Things in the Bakery.

5. The Kids Page, Dress Santa:  Students add items to dress Santa Claus.

8. Snowman_4: Students can drag a drop snowballs,  and other items to build a snowman. Students can also write a title and print the snowman when finished.

9. Highlight, Build a Snowman: This is an activity that allows students to dress a snowman by clicking on arrow keys to change the snowman’s hat, face, head and other items.

10.Dress The Snowman: Students can add eyes, a mouth, a button nose, a scarf and a few other items to a snowman.

1. A Teeny Tiny Book: My Christmas Alphabet Book

2. Advent Calendar: The site is about the History of Advent Calendars.

3. 2009 Advent Calendar: Each day of the Advent has a different activity for students as they count down to Christmas.

4. Advent Calendar 2007: A story about Santa and how he prepares for Christmas. It takes about a minute to upload, so start this one ahead of time. The advent has a short story everyday. Start with number one, click on the text to have the passage read to the students. You can click on the mouse hidden in the pictures to have him squeak.

5. Christmas Village and  Christmas Village Games: Each structure or building on this website leads to many different activities that use skills like following directions, comprehension, observation, sequencing and many more. Some resources are pdf’s, hidden stories, story starters and the elf club for fun and games. Cute and educational!

7. Christmas for Kids, Trim the Tree: Students add ornaments, lights and presents to a virtual Christmas tree.

8. Puzzles: Turtle and Present: These sites are free, but like radio and T.V., they have ads to support them. You may choose to use the applications Spotlight or Screen shade from Smart board to limit exposure.

10. 'Twas The Night Before Christmas: This is the story online with Flash animation. (Avoid the bottom of the site because that has advertisements and for more stories look in the General Christmas Activities.)

11. Santa Workshop, Word Search: Students have a grid and word list and need to find the words and drag and click over the words.

12. North Pole,  Concentration: (Short Term Memory) Start the memory game, click number of players and click on the card to turn over the card you selected. The Mr. Grinch color book allows students to color pages online.

  3. Math: Christmas Themed Math worksheets: This is for grades K-5: The site lists Kindergarten first and other grades need to scroll down.

  4. Math k-8: Christmas Word Problems: These will download as .pdf, so we will not have to look at the advertisements.

  5. Christmas Tree Puzzle: Students need to move the lights and wires to complete the circuit and light up the Christmas tree. This site down have a lot of advertisements.

  6. Mrs. C’s Kitchen: This link has some easy and fun directions for Christmas snacks.

  7. Christmas Cooking: Lots of Christmas Treats. The music has a stop button at the top left.
